VENIN is a software company based in Adelaide, South Australia. We started because we saw an entire industry doing compliance with spreadsheets and prayer. So we built something better.

How it started
South Australia has one of the most vibrant craft distilling scenes in the country. Small operations making world-class spirits — gin, whisky, vodka, brandy — out of sheds, converted barns, and purpose-built stillhouses across the Adelaide Hills, Barossa, McLaren Vale, and beyond.
But here's the thing: every one of them has to deal with excise. The ATO requires meticulous records — how much you made, what strength, what went in and out of bond, how much duty you owe. Miss something and you're exposed in an audit. Get the math wrong and you overpay — or worse, underpay.
We looked at what distillers were actually using: Excel spreadsheets with formulas that break. Paper logbooks that can't be searched. Generic inventory software that doesn't understand LALs, temperature correction, or the $350k remission cap. Some were using systems built for American or European regulations that don't apply here.
Nobody had built anything purpose-made for Australian distilleries. So we did.

What VENIN is
VENIN is an Australian software company. We build specialised tools for industries where the existing software options are either nonexistent, too generic, or built for a different market.
Our first product is GAUGЯ — record-keeping and compliance software for Australian alcohol distilleries. It handles production ops, inventory, excise calculations, and ATO-ready reporting in one system.
We're not a consultancy. We're not an agency. We build products. We ship them. We maintain them. When duty rates change in February and August, we update the system before you even notice.
